JOHANESBURG (AFP) - As per the latest reports Andrew Hall, the key South African cricketer is the latest to join the Indian Cricket League.
He is the leading South African wicket-keeper at the World Cup this year. He took 14 wickets at the World Cup in the West Indies this year, including five in the victory match of South Africa over England, which got them a slot in the semi-finals. Hall represented his country in 21 Tests and 88 one-day internationals. This star from Johannesburg said, “He opted for India after failing to make the squad for the inaugural World Twenty20 championship in South Africa this month”. Hall was never able to establish a permanent place despite fulfilling a number of important national team roles, including wicketkeeper, opening batsmen and "death" bowler. But, ironically, Hall is placed among those on billboards nationwide to publicize an event which has captured the South African imagination with many fixtures sold out. Former South Africa players, likes of Lance Klusener and Nicky Boje have already joined the ICL Twenty20 competition. This competition is scheduled to start in India next month with ‘big catches’ like Brian Lara (West Indies) and Inzamam ul-Haq (Pakistan). IndianCricketLeague Staff September 1, 2007
