Yuvraj Singh hit Stuart Broad for 6 might sixes in one over in India's match against England on Wednesday. Yuvraj Singh brought Broad to tears when he hit him for 36 runs in the 19th over. Luckily Broad did not bowl any no balls in that over. Yuvraj hit Broad to over the mid-wicket boundary two times, over backward square leg, extra cover, backward point and wide mid-on.
Not only the sixes but his half century came in only 12 balls, the fastest every fifty in any form of international cricket. In an interview after the game Yuvraj was asked about how his tactics had been for the match. He said "Just go out there and slog". To his ambush in the 19th over he said "With two overs to go and wickets in hand I thought I would use the crease. I was moving around the crease and timing it well." In the recent India-England series, Yuvi was hit for 5 sixes in a single over by Dimitri Mascarenhas in the final ODI in England. Referring to this match, Yuvraj said "The amount of phone calls I got after that -- I don't get as many when I score a hundred". Yuvraj Singh wanted a second chance and said "I thought, this isn't fair, give me a chance, and I got that chance." He went on to add "It's a horrible feeling and Stuart is one of their main bowlers so, I feel sorry for him".
Only three other players have achieved this milestone, India's Ravi Shastri, West Indian Garfield Sobers and South African Herschelle Gibbs reached the milestone in the world cup earlier this year. Yuvraj's six sixes made a big difference to India's total of 218 and ultimately securing India's win over England. --Indian Cricket League, Staff Writer
