The Indian cricket board has decided to appoint ex-South African opener Gary Kirsten as the national squad's coach for a two-year term, a top official said Tuesday.
Niranjan Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said the board's coach selection panel had interviewed Kirsten, who had agreed to take up the assignment. "Kirsten has agreed to take over as the Indian team's coach. We'll offer him a two-year contract," Shah was quoted as saying by Press Trust of India.
